AI is Real and Already Here

For many years most people knew artificial intelligence (AI) as the stuff of science fiction, but today AI is quickly gaining adoption in many industries and daily life. Specific AI technologies like ChatGPT are becoming household names. While AI holds enormous potential for providing real benefits to society, there are still many limitations that prevent that potential from being realized today. In this presentation, I will talk about the basics of AI and machine learning, examples of AI being used for societal good, and the challenges researchers face implementing AI in the real world.
